I love my job!...I just love it!
I look forward to going to work everyday because you just do not know what to expect and that is where I meet categories of Ignorance at its peak. I have decided to be sharing my daily experiences at the clinic with you, so that you all can learn a thing or two and know when to act fast. Until I master the art of how to handle my 'pages' on my blog, I just have to be giving them as posts.
Today's case was quite interesting:
Age: 41
Gender: Female
Marital Status: Married for 10 years but no child yet
Educational Level: Tertiary
Complaints: None actually but wants to register for antenatal because her Pastor says she is pregnant. Pastor has also asked her not to do a urine or blood pregnancy test. She was also advised not to do an ultrasound scan. All these would mean that she doubted the Lord.
All these time, I am listening with so much seriousness wondering why I had to be the one to burst her bubble and tell her that what she has is most likely Fibroids. So I start by explaining to her why she really needs to the scan so as to ensure that her 'baby' of 2 years in-utero is okay! That even if I were to refer her to the Obstetrician, they would still need to have an ultrasound scan done. My client was still adamant, so I went ahead to draft a referral for her, assuring her that I would still be here to answer whatever questions she had! *I knew she would be back* She grabbed the letter excitedly and left.
Thirty minutes later, she comes back, this time not excitedly but with so much anger. She had had a fight with the nurses manning the antenatal clinic. I asked why (like I couldn't guess!). And she says that the nurses didn't even allow her to see a doctor, talkless of even registering. That they reigned abuses at her, telling her not to waste time and go and adopt a child as soon as possible.
I just shook my head and of course kept my mouth sealed. I still insisted that she go do the scan or go back to that same Pastor to enquire where she could register with a pregnancy of 2 years! #Babalawotinz
2 years pregnancy and the woman and baby aren't dead yet?

Ignorance at its peak!!!! So, in this day and age....someone still thinks she can be preggers for 2 years! !!....Haba, dis is bad oooo. But some people are dumb sha....or is it religion that is belonging her sense of reasoning....and dat pastor *smh*....... diariz God ooooo

ReplyDeleteHi. See guys, things happen in this world. Fact is sometimes these "pastors" run stuff like baby factories. They get the woman pregnant until they are able to find her a baby. I know of one who even had a scan done and the pastor had told her they won't find anything on scan but she would feel the baby moving in her tummy. Later she came back with a baby. I know of another who had a baby after 3years of pregnancy. This time, the pregnancy was a missed abortion; she insisted on keeping it in faith and hence the baby.. Strange things happen however we never really know the full story.... In Nigeria, we don't practice investigative journalism..
